A New Year Has Begun
Last month, about in the middle of December, I came down with a bad case of Covid. I’m over it now but ever since then, I’ve been getting really bad migraines. I don’t know if the two things are related or not, but the migraines are seriously painful and stop me cold from doing various things. I’ve tried coding new mods, but the text just dances around and become doubled when a migraine hits… which is almost every single day now. I’m supposed to go to my neurologist and get help for these migraines but so far, the weather has not cooperated, so I’ve been unable to drive down there. At least I’ve been able to work on my art projects without too much pain which is great because I’m finally inspired to do so.
Since the very, very end of December to now (and hopefully beyond), I’ve been working in overdrive on my art projects. I have created four new characters for the new La Femme 2 base model along with three new clothing texture sets and I’ve got even more projects either in the works or in the planning stage. I sent previews of my new characters to Renderosity and the admins loved them! They want to release some of them during special promotions to increase sales. One of my characters, Tatiana, was called “stunning”. That made me very happy. I show no signs of slowing down yet, as long as my migraines don’t continue to get any worse that is.
At left, you can see my Tatiana character in my promotional artwork Introducing Tatiana. So far, the only artworks I’ve created this year have been promotional artworks to showcase my new characters and clothing sets. I need to create at least one new artwork just for art’s sake sooner rather than later. I’ve just been so busy with the commercial stuff; my muse seems to be focused on only that stuff. I’ve got an idea for an artwork to create for my upcoming birthday but only time will tell if I get around to creating it. I need to take a look at my notebook of ideas and pick some things to create. Right now, I feel another migraine coming on but usually working on my art doesn’t make them worse. We will see whether I’m able to work on some new art or not.
I’ve released two of the characters I’ve created (Eleanor and Tatiana) at Renderosity and one of the clothing texture sets. The clothing texture set hasn’t done too well yet and Eleanor was a little underwhelming, but Tatiana has been doing really well so far. You can see all of my new products (both commercial and free) in the new Marketplace Showcase at Dream 9 Art. Alternatively, you could go directly to my storefront at Renderosity.
I’m also going to attempt to learn Blender (a 3D model creation app). I’ve got everything ready, just need to sit down and do the tutorials. I’ll keep you posted on that.
As for an update on home life…
Abbey Rose has reached full-size and was spayed in late December of last year. She had to wear the “cone of shame” for a while (which the vet’s office called an “Elizabethan Collar”) but eventually got her stitches out and has since made a full recovery. You can barely even see her scar! Pixie has reached an even worse weight thanks to Dad continuously feeding her (we try our best to stop him but it’s next to impossible). It’s gotten to the point that I call Pixie “Jabba the Pup”. Mom’s knee has been hurting her and making it difficult for her to walk. She has migraines too and has for years though they’ve been bad lately thanks to trying to deal with Dad. Dad’s short-term memory is more or less non-existent now. He’s been getting aggitated more and more recently as well. Hateful even. It’s basically Dr. Jekyll (regular Dad) and Mr. Hyde (hateful Dad). Last night, Dad got really hateful with me and threatened to punch me. It really upset me at the time as it shows how far gone he has become. It breaks my heart to pieces. I don’t know what we’re going to do but we’ll have to do something as he continues to get worse. It would be best for him and us as well. It’s just really hard to think about, let alone talk about.
For now, my focus is on my art projects and eventually learning to use the Blender program. So, until next time… Take care!
